Ok, so wanting to be "jacked" is a loose term. To specify, being jacked for the purpose of this post is considered noticeably more muscular than most all people of your relative genetic size. There are some giants out there that are just big bodied without tons of muscle tissue. This is based off being noticeable amongst your peers.
Lets say you are jacked. You look like you have been correctly training for over 10 years straight and have fully supported your growth with proper nutrition and recovery. Lets also say that you are now big enough, now what?
You know what can never change? Your diet, that's right. The diet that you eat and the expenses that come along with it must be continued from now on to maintain your size. Your training must also continue to at least stimulate muscle maintenance or guess what, all those years of dedication will start to dissipate before your eyes.
People often say "I wish like I could look like that", or "If I looked like that I would never wear a shirt". The reality is for a normal person, not someone who is using their physique as a means of making a living. I'm talking about someone who works a normal job, wife, kids, responsibilities, being "jacked "may be a far reach. Not because they cant do it or not that they are not disciplined enough, but can their life accommodate it and all the time and dedication it requires just to maintain an above average physique much less continue to grow. Remember, this person eats like this 365, 7 days per week. When times are good, bad, or ugly, this person is working on themselves and its not always awesome.
You can be as jacked as your genetics allow, combined with the amount of time you’re able to dedicate to the sport while still maintaining balance in your life.
But none of that matters without the determination to keep going, even on the days when there’s nothing motivating you. The kind of drive that few people possess—the willingness to keep pushing with no finish line in sight.
It’s the work ethic that makes you go above and beyond when no one is watching and no one is there to impress.
How you do anything is how you do everything.
I'm going to use the first half of the great Ronnie Coleman's quote to close this thing out and add my take to the last half.
"Everybody want to be a bodybuilder", Until Its Time To Do What Bodybuilders Do.
